Vita
Evgeny, born 1984 in St.Petersburg, spend his childhood between Germany and Russia after his family moved to Hamburg in 1992. He studied social and political science at the University of Hamburg. During that time he discovered photography as a tool to tackle social realities beyond the traditional academic approach.
He went on to study photojournalism at the Danish School of Media and Journalism in Aarhus, Denmark and graduated from the international program in 2014. Evgeny was selected and participated in the 2015 Joop Swart Masterclass by World Press Photo and the 2018 Eddie Adams Workshop. Currently he is based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and works as a freelancer for international publications in addition to his personal projects. Evgeny is represented by the agency Focus and available for assignments.
